University of Houston – Power Electronics, Microgrids & Subsea Electrical Systems Center (PEMSES)

The University of Houston (UH) is a large public university in Houston. The Subsea Systems Institute (SSI), led by UH has contributed immensely towards improving offshore and subsea technologies and our facility has several latest technologies for electrical analysis and testing. PEMSES offers an advanced dynamometer test systems and real-time Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) platforms (Typhoon and RTDS), which can be used for modeling, testing and predicting the behavior of complex electrical systems even before building the hardware (or prototype). Also available is a high temperature and low temperature component test facility.(https://uh.edu/uh-research/ssi/)

Capabilities include:

  • Dynamometer
  • Component and Power Testing
  • Power performance modeling
  • Finite Element Analysis modeling
