Logical Technology Progression Guidance
Applications to the TEAMER program undergo rigorous review to ensure that applicants receive meaningful support to progress the maturity of their marine energy endeavor (e.g., technology or site/project development). One key aspect of technology/project maturation is the concept of ‘logical progression,’ defined here as selecting next steps that efficiently build upon previous innovations/research in a logical and interconnected way. The TEAMER program seeks to fund efforts that, on the whole, will deliver high value outcomes that maximize learnings from the facility support and best serve the maturation/progression of the recipient’s endeavor. This guidance document outlines general principles of marine energy technology progression, including examples that should help applicants and reviewers identify high value and low value next steps.
