TEAMER offers Conference Travel and Publication Support for Facilities and Technical Support Recipients
If research is conducted in a lab and no one is around to hear about it, does it make an impact?
TEAMER exists primarily to benefit marine energy researchers and technology developers. But along the way, we also help to advance the marine energy industry as a whole. One of the key ways we do this is through knowledge sharing. When a TSR receives support from TEAMER, the final requirement of that support is public reporting of the results. This dissemination is accomplished in several ways, some of which are a contingency of accepting support (e.g., creation of a Post-Access Report uploaded to the Marine Hydrokinetic Data Repository). However, some other methods of broader results dissemination involve incurring additional costs: writing, development, and publication of journal articles and travel to conferences for presentations.
To alleviate these cost pressures and further broaden the reach of the research being conducted through the program, TEAMER is now offering Results Dissemination Support for both conference travel and publication development. Conference Travel
Support for travel-related expenses to present your findings
Conference Travel Support
Qualified TEAMER Technical Support Recipients (TSR) and Facilities may request up to $5,000 for reimbursable conference travel support. In order to be qualified for reimbursable conference travel support, you must fill out the TEAMER Conference Travel Support Application.
This support is offered to TEAMER TSRs and Facilities who have an ongoing TEAMER project in the post-access stage or have completed a project within 6-months of the conference travel support application submission date. Note: Applications are due no later than 60 days before the start of the conference you plan to attend.
Publication Development
Support for developing and publishing scientific articles about your findings
Publication Development Support
TEAMER offers support of up to $30,000 for up to five recipients annually to aid in the development of journal publications. This support is open to both Technical Support Recipients (TSRs) and Facilities within the TEAMER Facility Network with a Post Access Report for their RFTS project that has been approved no more than 3 months prior to application submission date. TSRs and/or Facilities must complete the TEAMER Publication Support Application to be considered for support. Funding is replenished annually and is distributed on a first come, first serve basis. Reach out to the Network Director prior to applying to ensure funding is still available for that year.
